Well girls have their horsey parties and fairy princesses but what about the boys. How about boys toys and I don't mean the sort that comes with a console or you need a computer. For next birthday how about a party with real boys toys as in a John Deere Tractor Party. There are lots of  John Deere Party Supplies available in the marketplace and in fact you could make your own using John Deere clipart and stickers and even a photo of your youngster on a tractor from that farm visit you went on last summer. It will make the build up to the day more exciting for your child and make him really appreciate his birthday party.

So where do you have the party; if you live close enough to a "petting farm or zoo" they may do birthday parties, alternatively the backyard can easily be turned into a makeshift farmyard with a few bales of straw making it the ideal place for your   John Deere Birthday Party . A few decorations and bunting which can be homemade so long as it is John Deere colors of green and yellow! Add some farm costumes and a scarecrow and you are all set. You could even ask the guests to come in fancy dress or at least come in their denims with the odd checked shirt and you can add some straw hats as they arrive. There are many extras you can find on the web and here at John Deere Party Supplies which will help make the day memorable.

So what do the kids do! Well if you can't get a real one, there are plenty of toy ride-on john deere tractors available and if the children are too young for that then you can always get a play farmhouse and animals and we have lots of John Deere tractor toys to add to the occasion.  Another great idea would be to cover a wall (at least as high up as they can reach!)  with paper and buy some John Deere colouring sets and stickers which can be used to make a huge farmyard scene with every youngster contributing to this artwork masterpiece. The parents will love it when they come to collect their kids.

There is always plenty to keep the children amused and the sort of games you play depends on location. Pinning the tail on the donkey and finding a needle in a haystack are two farm related activities ideal for indoor parties. Outdoors of course any game that involves running around will of course be popular as will pitching hoseshoes (plastic ones of course). You could pin an animal on a child's back. They then turn round and show it to the rest of the children and then they have to guess which animal by asking questions which only ellicit a yes/no response. Get some party balloons with an animal face on each one and then get the children to heard them into a corral but not by carrying them. You can always end the activities with a good old sing song "Old MacDonald had a farm goes down well. With a little imagination a great afternoon can be had by everyone.

All these activities can be turned into games by using a stopwatch and even team games. One broom per team and everyone has to corral a cow balloon will soon have everyone shouting for their team to win.

When it comes to food and drink, a BBQ theme with hamburgers and hot dogs goes down a treat.  You can even add corn on the cob, baked potatoes and watermelon as sides but the centre piece has got to be a cake baked in the shape of a John Deere tractor withn green and yellow icing. Drinks can be kept in a John Deere plastic trailer or old wheelbarrow  topped up with ice and there are plenty of different disposable tractor plates.

As well as the commercially available party favors you could add some John Deere stickers and coloring pens, but for something different add a little pack of sunflower seeds or anything else that is fast growing and easy. It will  make a great educational project.

It will be a fun day and exhausting but don't forget to have a great time yourself and have the camera on hand to treasure the memories of your John Deere party day for a lifetime
